Ever fancied climbing Mount Kilimanjaro? How about a 24 hour endurance challenge across the Lake District?
You can now partake in these once-in-a-lifetime experiences while raising money for the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS) at the same time.
The charity has teamed up with adventure provider Life Changing Challenges to give supporters some more extreme fundraising opportunities.
The Lake District challenge, taking place on June 29 and 30, involves a 24 hour mixture of canoeing, cycling, hill-walking and abseiling as participants make their way from Lake Windermere to Bassenthwaite Lake. Covering 71 kilometres in total, the challenge looks sure to test even the most resilient participant.
Anyone wishing to take part for GNAAS must raise ยฃ500 plus a ยฃ50 deposit. Alternatively they can self-fund for ยฃ300 plus the ยฃ50 deposit.
The Mount Kilimanjaro trek departs the UK on September 13 and spans ten days. It will take participants through dense forest, across rocky terrain, and up the 5,895ft of Earthโs highest free standing mountain.
Those wishing to take part in the charity trek must raise ยฃ3,000 plus a ยฃ399 deposit. Anyone wishing to self-fund the trip must pay ยฃ1,796 plus the ยฃ399 deposit.
Mandy Drake, deputy director of fundraising at GNAAS, said: โThese two challenges truly offer a life changing experience for those taking part and we are excited to offer them to our supporters. Not only are participants signing up for the challenge of a life time, they are also going to raise money for GNAAS in the process. Itโs a win-win.โ
